Hello Pemberton and welcome to the forum  :)
I am not an expert on large eggs but I'm sure someone more expert will be along to advise you.
How old is your hen and how long has she been laying?
In the meantime good luck with your hen and keep us posted  :)

When my girls lay a large one, its always a double yoker. They have been laying for a few weeks now, and I havent had a large one for over a week. Is your hen young? Maybe that she is getting into the swing of things? I am VERY MUCH NOT an expert, so someone who knows what they are talking about will probably tell you whats what - just thought I would mention my experience of big eggs!

My hen is just over 2 years old. She has been laying since June 09, and has always produced large eggs, but quite often soft shelled ones. She hasn't laid for over a week now, although seems to be trying but nothing happening as yet.
