Its an Epipremnum, but it is also known as Devil's Ivy. 

I've never had one as a houseplant, but they are pretty easy care.  If you google it, you're bound to get loads of info as they are very popular.  They are vines that grow up other trees in tropical regions so don't mind being houseplants.  Keep it away from radiators and direct sunlight though.

Thanks New Shoot. Now I know what to Google I'll see what I can find. We've been given one and it's OK, but not as happy as it could be.
