Hi again. Tony H no offence taken or implied. I was just trying tell people the way it is.

Argyllie. I totally agree with what you say. Going back to my original comment ' If you are going to shoot at something your intention must always be to kill it.' Anything say within 50 yds is okay for a .22, anything further your going to need something bigger. Personally I use my .308 on everything.  I did see off a whole family of foxes using the .22. It took six hours, all night long stint. They were trying to kill the pet Chiuaua.    It could even go in the garden without being attacked. All weapons have their niche  and these foxes were less than 25m away.
I'm going to post some advice on mink trapping for those that are interested. I'll probably find a thread and post there.

I was only repeating some advice I was given about using a .22 against foxes.

I hope I didn't come across as in starting a pro/anti thread.  :(

Sorry Joyful and all.

Don't worry GF :)

We know you weren't doing that.

Foxes do, on occasions, have to be shot.  But it MUST be done by someone who knows exactly how to do it to ensure public safety and a sure, clean and humane kill.

I'm going to lock the topic now but if any one wants to add some important information please  PM a moderator and ask them to post it for you.
