Soide shooting F1 Sweet Olive
« on: May 11, 2008, 09:20 »
Hi,
I am growing F1 Sweet Olive Toms in my greenhouse and they are starting to develop side shoots.
I have read on here that some Toms you should side shoot and others not. I also read about Cordon and indeterminate?

Anyway what is a cordon and indeterminate and which do I side shoot and do I side shoot my Sweet Olives Toms.

Off down to Lottie now for a day of pure quality Lottie time in glorious weather.
99% Organic and 1% Slug Pellets.

Allotment holder since 27th May 2007.

According to T&M it's a cordon so pinch out it's side shoots.

Cordon = Indeterminate = pinch out side shoots

Bush = Determinate = Don't pinch out side shoots

If you still have the packet that should tell you what type it is and whether to pinch it out.

Good things seed packets

Thanks for your link richyrich.

I have just checked on my sub arctic plenty as the packet has gone astray. These are bush tomatoes. Unfortunately I have pinched out the side shoots on these today!! I have never had bush tomatoes before!

Does anyone know if they will be OK please?

Elaine
