chickens, aeroplanes, splinters, rizla papers, tyres, match boxes, sea water, cordite, owls, seat belts, meteors, crazy paving, scientologists, thunderclouds, emery boards, cuckoo spit, nail clippings, wigs/merkins, uranium, plutonium, intangible concepts (justice, freedom etc.), string, pianos, marquees, engine oil, theatre, fabric softener, toboggans, energy saving bulbs, charcoal, roofing felt...

Thats about it, I assure you everything else will make superb wine.

I must disagree hotterotter, I'm sure someone out there must have a wine recipe for scientologists  ... its not as if you can use them for anything else ...

I'd like to at least try to make merkin wine. Would be quite fun harvesting them I'd imagine.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

One of my friends made wine from cornflakes, he reckoned that as they are grain it should work and it did - bit bland though
I'm toying with the idea of making onion wine cos i have enough djs to waste one and who knows? Could be interesting...
All mushrooms are edible - some only once.

I read somewhere on the net that if you followed the recipe [google onion wine recipe - I think there's only one] and said nothing to your tasters, they'd be hard-fetched to tell it was onion. By all accounts, quite nice.

Now don't blame me if you try it. I'm just passing on my literary experience! :D

Thanks, I'll look it up, have a feeling it should be nice enough cos onions are al starch and sugar anyway.

Provided it ain't poisonous you can make wine out of most things won't comment on the taste or quality though. I've tried tomatoe well least said soonest mended

Seriously if it gives a taste and isn't dangerously poisonous (lists available on the web) try it

never thought about this one before - but alcohol is sugar + yeast, so anything with sugar in should work. I'm sure most stuff has been tried, the reason you don't see the recipe for something is because its been tried and isn't worth the bother.

Best one this month is honeysuckle - well worth the trouble and ready by Christmas
