do these have male and female flowers like cucumbers and if so do you have to remove th emale flowers?

We only had two plants last year and were giving them away!! This year i have sown a normal one and a yellow one so may have even more (did six seeds of each - may actually give whole seedlings away if they all germinate)

I made it my business to get my old man to eat courgettes with nearly every meal, cept possibly breakfast  8)   I made courgette bread, courgette choccy pud and a really good "carrot" cake made with yellow courgettes.  Hook, line and sinker

He doesn't like courgettes  8)

lol I grew 4 plants a couple of years back, filled up a freezer with them and still had tons left over.

New vegetable gardener here ~~finding it hard to believe that courgettes produce a huge amount !!! Everyone has been warning me saying that one plant is enough.

It's true.  Given the right growing conditions they will just keep on producing more and more.  Last season I could not bring myself to dig it up but I was just wishing the darn thing to die.

I grow just one plant and it's all we can handle in a season. As for freezing them, YUKKKK! They never froze well for me.

I spent hours prepping them for the freezer. You live and learn  :roll:

You can make them into a veg tom sauce for pasta and then freeze that.

I like to grow different varieties so have to grow several plants  :D

Oh I don't bother with all that male female stuff. I just let the bees sort it out.  Always get plenty of cucs.  Mind you maybe not this year cos I forgot to so me outdoor ones
