I cut back a 3 yo blackcurrant bush and made 9 pots of cuttings with the hope of increasing my stocks.

Fingers crossed!

We are renewing the raised beds in the PT.  We dug out the soil and discovered that the poles on one side had moved inwards by more than 10 cms. We had to dig down to the base plates, push them back into place and we cemented them in place this time.  I had noticed that the cover looked a bit looser this year but assumed it was just that it had stretched, when we left for home this afternoon it looked much tighter.

Planted a bush Peach Rochester and a seedless grape both supplied impeccably by RV Rogers of Pickering.  Can't recommend them highly enough.  Bought from them before and they are very good nurserymen!!!

Might go for another Peach variety in there too as even though they are supposed to be self fertile I hear that adding other trees will help with fruit setting/pollination.  Is that true?

PT slowly heading in the more fruit than veg direction...

Just sown several varieties of chillies.  Got a heated greenhouse now so won't have to use up all the window cills indoors any more...

Planted Strawberrys which were in containers last year.  Going to try some in beds some in different sized containers to see which work best...

Have bought sulphur candles - 1 for the greenhouse, 1 for the potting shed. Just need the snow to melt to give me an incentive to get out there and get started!!

I finally got a thornless blackberry bush and a pinot noir vine! They are soaking as I write and will be potted up tomorrow!

When they are established, I will be offering rooted cuttings here.  ;)

I noticed that the greenhouse window was open, so it must have reached 20C inside  :D

So promptly made a cuppa and went and sat in the warm in there, and read a gardening book

It made me notice how much clearing up I need to do before I start sowing, though  ::)

I'm thinking that the greenhouse is likely to be warmer than my house at the moment,  but I need to clear it of old dead plant material and clean it! ::)
