Literally that - how many Tumbling Toms plants could I plant in one 16" hanging basket please - two or three?

I don't want to compromise the plants by planting too many, but I wnat to maximise my harvest at the same time.

I've had 3 in one basket before, they just take more watering and feeding

With a 16" basket I think you could get away with 3 plants. Leave room toto up the soil and allow for propercwatering

I had 3 Tumbling Tom plants in each of 2 baskets - to be honest, even 2 per basket was too many in my opinion as keeping the baskets well watered was a strain during hot sunny weather.  Despite placing a plastic bowl inside the basket to capture water and act as a reservoir, lining the basket with plastic with minimal holes through and adding gel crystals in the compost to retain water plus pushing a bottle (pierced) of water into the top for a leaky drip, the plants were in a constant dehydrated state which got progressively worse as the season dragged on and the roots filled the basket.

Having said all that, both baskets either side of the back door looked spectacular as the tomatoes ripened but I vowed I would only grow one plant per basket in future.
