my first crop ready, but..........

my first year of trying to grow veg & my radishes were ready.....an exciting moment until i discovered little holes in all but 1!!.....looks like ants, as i cut one open & found an ant in it....any tips?

My biggest problem with radishes is slugs, not ants, which make bigger holes. But, they taste good, once you've scooped out the hole. Another way of doing it (suggested on this site) is growing your radishes in a tub, since they don't need too much root space, and can grow fairly close to one another.

not ants but actual beetle larvae .not sure the name but  they do drill holes in radish etc and lay an egg this then burrows around till its ready to come out :twisted:
