I do like the look for your new glass kettle Yorkie, but not sure if I could open the lid and when it is off, doesn't it drip water.   Mrs B

Bear in mind if you get a glass kettle you will see every dot of limescale, and have to descale it more often, plus my one was much heavier than the old metal kettle it replaced.
It's now back in it's box in the loft (for emergency use) and I got a new jug-shaped metal one, instead  ::)

So best to try lifting the kettle in the shop, or look at the weights on-line before you buy a new one.

Good point about the weight - which I hadn't really thought about  ::).

But it's ordered, arrived this evening, and is just boiling for the first time. With the lights off, it is indeed a very groovy kettle  8)

Yes, it's about 40% heavier than the plastic kettle it's replacing, which might be an issue for someone with weak wrists or filling it a lot. But I'm not filling it very often to the max so hopefully it'll be fine. 

I'm prepared for the limescaling  :ohmy:.  Fingers crosssed I remember to do it now...
