Both my bee hives were very busy today,it was like summer in the sunshine :)

Well done for helping them come through the winter :)  I'm totally jealous 'cause I lost mine this winter :(

Thanks, I had just the one and I was in my second year.   I'm not cut up about it; I know the reasons they died and unfortunately this is what experience is made of: not getting it right every time.

how long have you had yours?

Both of my colonies have come through the winter but I am worried about one. It is no where near as active as the other and went into the winter as much the stronger colony. I do think I have seen some new bees coming out on warm days but too much of a novice to be 100% sure and been too cold to open them up for a good look around. Will have to wait for a nice warm day.

how long have you had yours?

I am in my second year,last year I managed to get both my colonies through winter as well,but I lost a couple of swarms in the summer and ended up with very little honey.

mouse guards are coming off later,hopefully they won't knock as much pollen off.

I inspected both hives today,I was shocked to see how much sealed brood there was in both hives.

i get my first colony of bees in two weeks and am nervous and excited at the same time  :D i just hope i have everything i need, i am started to doubt that i am ready now!!

it is a bit daunting,you need an experienced  bee buddy who will be on hand to advise you.

i have, i joined the local beekeeping association a year ago and have done the beginers course and have my mentor but its still scary! ha! i do feel prepared just a nervous excitment really!

These are the hives down at our site (not mine)

The ones on the left are very busy indeed

The ones on the right are new this year from swarms last summer/autumn
