Title: DUCK EGGS!
Post by: WR1 on July 04, 2008, 22:43
Hi

Does anyone now of someone selling some khaki campbell duck eggs in South Wales, because one hen has just been broody and out of three eggs we had 1 duckling and now another silkie has just gone broody  :x so we wanted to hatch some ducks because they are soooooo cute and plus we need some to keep the other one company.

Thank you
 Catii

Bother, my white campbell drake is no more otherwise I could have offered you white campbell eggs if you were interested. Obviously you can still have eggs but they won't hatch so no much use

Don't know about south Wales but there is a big stockist in Shropshire near Oswestry called Hicks Waterfowl World (where I got my girls from). They might post you some hatching eggs if you can't get there.

Hi if you are really desparate then why not go to a local farm shop and just buy some eggs ? I did that a couple of years ago and managed to hatch 2 little ducklings. If you are aprticular in which breed then you'll obviuosly have to check out what the eggs look like then go for it ! I hatched mine under a chicken then i had to play surrogate mummy and teach them to swim ! i know sounds bizarre but so rewarding and they are tame still. Anyway good luck

Ok Thank you .

We have managed to get some Indian Runners from my friend.

Sadly we had to take our duckling out from the mum because mum was kicking her/him.

Many Thanks Catii
