Title: Curved 'glass' for greenhouse .. well (perspex really)
Post by: wbmkk on June 11, 2019, 18:58
I have just been given a small 6 x 6 greenhouse, which will be great for my new allotment .. I'll collect it (well start to dismantle it at least at the weekend)

It has curved eaves, two of these are missing.

I don't actually know the brand of the greenhouse, but instead of the usual roof sections and vertical wall sections, this has curved eaves.

Where can I get replacements from, or is it simply a case of buying thin perspex sheeting and trying to bend it to suit.

thanks !

Might be a Halls.  You can get replacemnets from them, also some on ebay.

Perspex is very expensive and is a 'rigid' commodity so no way will you get it to bend.  I think your only bet is to look at either the manufacturer for replacement or as has been said e=bay.

"Halls" produced a range of greenhouses and lean-to greenhouses with curved Perspex - it is not cheap to buy and sometimes only sold in multiples - I tried hard to source replacements for my dad's lean-to greenhouse conservatory... still trying but now my son owns the place where it is.

I will search again for the link that I found (quite sometime ago)… if I find it I will share.

Some Halls products are no longer available I discovered :(

I've      now double checked with my husband, (we own a DIY shop) and the only perspex that is pliable is 2mm and can only be bent a little, he doubts it would bend to the angle you are looking at. We don't stock it any m ore due to the cost.

That's the problem I found hence searching high and low on the internet for an alternative supplier

Just wondered if you managed to find a solution to the need for curved material to repair greenhouse.

We still haven't... so the lean-to will have to go and be replaced completely.
