I would like to know the best way that I can cook trout in a slow cooker. All recipes welcomed, Thankyou

Trout should'nt be cooked that way...in  my opinion :?  Bake in foil bag with herbs and wine for about 20mins in a hot oven.  Put in a slow-cooker would surely dissintegrate it?

You can cook trout in a slow cooker, but for the life of me I don't know why anyone would. :shock:

For four people

1oz butter
2 tomatoes skinned and sliced
1 red pepper thinly sliced
4oz button mushrooms sliced
1tbsp chopped parsley
4 whole trout
4tbsps white wine
chopped chives
seasoning

Grease slow cooker with a little of the butter.  Layer tomatoes, pepper, and mushrooms,sprinkle with parsley and season.  Season fish inside and out.  Place on top of veg, pour over wine and dot with remaining butter.  Cover and cook on high for 2 hours.  Serve with the chives.

Once again thank you, glad I asked the question before trying. I just thought the fish might have steamed nicely. However I.H.M’s recipe does sound good, but will stick with the traditional oven baked method.
