Wine Bottle advice for a Newbie!
« on: September 30, 2013, 17:18 »
Good Afternoon!  Right then, I've got my equipment and ordered my wine kit.  While I'm waiting for it to arrive I thought I would start rounding up wine bottles.  Is it ok to bottle red wine into clear bottles?  I would be storing them in a dark cupboard/pantry.  Also,  which way is the best way to store them, on the side, upright or upside down?  Thanks!

Red wine in clear bottles is O.K. as you're storing them in the dark.  It's best to store them on their sides as the sediment settles along the length and if you decant carefully, should stay there.

Cheers,   Tony.

If you leave wine in d j long enough to blend and mature, the wine will clear and drop out naturally. Through filtering will extract anything left. Good luck Pm me if you need any more help,be glad to help out.
