Title: A glut of golden plums.
Post by: hayles62 on September 10, 2006, 08:51
Sounds like a title to a poem....

I just found some golden plum trees on common land and there are loads i've been freezing them stoned. I'm going to make some wine and jam with them but wondered if any one else makes nice things with them?

The colour is beautiful and the flesh looks almost naughty in the freezer bags

I've just made the plum cake in the recipe part of this site and it's lovely - I made it with honey not syrup just because that's what I had and I'll definately make more.

Are they like these hayles? Couldn't bear to let these all go to the wasps, so learned how to bottle overnight!
