Don't worry - they can stand it, that's why you can plant them this time of year. Wasn't much of one anyway.

No frost here last nite but we had a light frost the nite before.
Think it's time to get things into the ground, got broad beans that have been hardening off for nearly a wk. What else should be going in now :?:

Light frost here to, but I've only got JA's in so far, but onions will be going in today.  :)

Absolutely.

As an experiment, I planted a few scrappy little Red Sun shallot sets in October last year.  Not a winter variety but they have come all the way through the winter and are now about 6" high.  Not recommending the technique incidentally since maybe only half have survived but the point is that frost doesn't affect them.  I'll be interested to see if they run to seed worse than most.

Come to think of it, even half surviving is pretty good since none would have survived in storage over-winter.
