Winter Solstice
« on: December 21, 2020, 08:02 »

The Holly and the Ivy, Mistletoe and Yew,
Mark the passing of the year from the dark to something new,
Blessed are the evergreens before the springs begun
The end of winter lies ahead let's greet the new born sun . . .

I like the winter solstice as it's a good reason for a personal celebration.

Happy one Birthday Girl.   I was born on the summer solstice.   That makes us very special  :)  Mrs Bouquet

The only way is up from here on, I love when the days start to lengthen and you first start to notice that extra bit of daylight.  :D

My Mum always reckons she starts noticing the longer days at about my brother's birthday, in the middle of January
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
