The only weedkiller suitable for amateur use is glyphosate but you will need to bruise the leaves before application for it to have any chance of being effective.

However, it is a prehistoric plant with tough survival instincts and you will need to keep attacking it - I'd suggest with the hoe at least once a week, once you've got rid of the worst.

Try to look on it as an old friend, because it is likely to always be with you 

My plot neighbour has been spraying it for the last 20 years and still hasn't got rid of it.

I regularly hoe it and pull it up, and let it get on with it
