Can't you bottle them? I usually buy a jar of beetroot at Christmas. Two types, crinkle cut and straight cut. No expense is spared.

I've done carrot and parsnip crisps, but not beetroot. Once I get some decent beets I will have a try. How are you doing them BQ? oven or deep fried?

What you cant see is the kids hovering to eat them. All off them gone faster than sweets or popcorn.

At least they are not deep fried, and you know beetroot is good for you! :)
It also has strange effects on the body ::)
You could turn them into a refreshing beetroot salad with orange juice, oil seasoning, chopped chive and crushed garlic.
Or mix with some dill and creme fraiche or soured cream and seasioning as an accompaniment to oily fish or smoked fish. You can also do this with a dollop of beetroot chutney and the creme fraiche.
Annie Bell has a gorgeous pink cake made with beetroot and a cream cheese frosting.
Mix the beetroots with other root veg, oil, herbs and vinegar and roast them.
-
I do have a lot of the annie bell books and that rings a bell so will get digging them out.
No orange juice, onion etc for a few more weeks, they give me horrific heartburn still. I am on my second tub of bicarb already. This baby will need bicarb withdrawl therapy

Got any names planned yet BQ?
