I'm currently munching my way through the Marans and will be starting on the Light Sussex next.
When you hatch eggs, you are always going to end up with surplus cockerels. If you aren't prepared to eat or simply destroy them, the disposing of cocks is always going to be a problem. Unfortunately some people live in areas where keeping one would cause neighbour problems due to noise and in any case, one cockerel will usually be sufficient for up to a dozen pullets or hens.
