No eggs yet :( ??
« on: July 11, 2011, 21:48 »
Hi I am two Rhode island reds and a Moran and they are about 20 weeks and still no eggs. I have been feeding them layers pellets and they hate them, and my nan bought them 2 fake eggs to get them sitting but no eggs :(

I wouldn't worry too much at the moment, give them a bit longer, I got my warrens (hybrid of Rhode Island Red) at POL on 20th May, 2 of them started laying around 3 weeks later (around 21 weeks), another less than a week ago (at around 24 weeks) and the 4th one hasn't started yet!!
They will lay in their own time.  When did you get them? I think mine took a while due to the upheaval of being moved when we got them.
The glass is neither half empty or half full - it is simply the incorrect size! Find a new glass!

Hi ya, we got them about 20 weeks ago they are loads fatter now and changing shape, I keep an eye on them. Though one of them has started to make a barking type noise it's well funny but hoping she is not a he !

Oue Black Rocks started laying at 26 weeks old so you just need to be patient, difficult as it is.     Makes the first eggs all the more special.
