fig tart -- gorgeous!
« on: September 28, 2009, 20:18 »
The filling for this was in a recipe form yesterday's MailoS mag. It was so scrummy I wanted to share it.

300 ml sour cream ( used low fat)
3 tbs honey (I used spanish orange blossom)
1 mediium egg & 1 yolk
5 figs

Preheat oven to 200 deg (or Gas 6) Use a loose bottom flan tin.
Mix the sour cream, eggs and 2 tbs of the honey together and pour into a precooked pastry tart case about 3 cm deep. (Ready made, made with bought sweet short crust or homemade and blind baked)
Slice each fig downwards into three slices and place carefully in custard, Drizzle with the remaining honey.
Bake for 35 - 40 mins and wait until cool before tryng to remove from tin.

Absolutely lush  :tongue2:
