You know what its like when you get your mind into looking for something, you start to see them everywhere so then you pick and freeze and pick and freeze.

I am using my grandads spare freezer and when I called in yesterday to freeze another batch I realised actually I had filled the whole freezer

I think I have enough now

arghhh I thought I saw some but dismissed them as I thought they weren't ready yet, there was a tree or bush whatever with black fruits and next to that  a tree or bush with bluish bloom fruit.  I assumed they must be something else dunno damsons or something.  Especially as it only had a few vicious looking thorns.

The ones near me are not ready yet, there was a 'first flush' that I picked and left to ripen up nicely on the windowsill, but the rest on the bush are still very hard.

Actually, I went back yesterday for another look and there were quite a few ripe or near-ripe.

Needless to say, they are now on my windowsill.

More sloe gin?
