You don't have to fill it up  :D  but I often do and freeze the excess in portions for later use ;)

Enjoy your treat Rowland  :)

We are having a chilli with some diced and minced beef as I have found both in the freezer, but not enough of either on their own.  To spook it up a bit for Halloween I am going to add roasted pumpkin that I have just made. There will be plenty of garlic going in as well to ward off the vampires

Pasta with leeks and garlic.   Haven't thought about a sauce yet, maybe some sweet chilli stirred in.

Treat night here of fillet steak, jacket potatoes, mushrooms & for me salad.
Strawberries & plain yogurt for me.
Might even have a glass of bubbly since  I bought a thing to stop it going flat last week & there's been a bottle of prosecco in the fridge for months lol might need the whole bottle if a new lockdown starts tonight!

Sorry to go back to the slow cooker topic, but use mine a lot.  I have found a few recipes though that I used to do in the oven that do not 'transfer' (sausages in Newky Brown) for example.  It needs the quicker heat of the oven to turn the beer into the 'treacle like' sauce.  Did not work in the slow cooker as the beer stayed liquid.    You just need to 'play' with it and find out what works.  One thing I would stress is, cook your onions first, don't put them in raw as some cook books suggest, as they come out raw.

Odd, my onions cooked perfectly well in the slow cooker.

Roast chicken dinner with turnip-swede from the plot, roasted spuds and a roasted onion each with produce from the shed and braised red cabbage from the freezer.

All very satisfying to know I grew most of our tea  :D

I'm cooking lamb steaks (they're very small, so 1 wasn't enough!) a few wedges, peas and swede.
For a treat there's apple with an almond crumb crust plus some squirty cream.

Can you tell it's a day off from counting carbs?
