One of my girls, who is an every day layer, has been laying shell-less eggs for the last 10 days - she isnt doing one a day, more like one every other, and one day I had a soft shelled egg.

She is looking well, her comb is lovely and red, she is perky and behaving normally, eating well, access to grit/shell, eats layers pellets, I put ACV in their water a couple of days a week as standard.

Fully cleaned out house in case of beasties, nothing untoward.

Any ideas?

It could be her age.  How old is she?  You could cut back on any treats and add poultry spice to see if that helps too.

I got her late March 2011 as POL, so she isnt that old is she??

Have stopped treats, will see what happens!

Mine has just done the same thing, she laid every day then laid a few perfect but shell-less eggs. I stopped giving so many treats and after two weeks she has begun to lay again. Joyfull recommended dipping treats in lime flour (I think/hope that was the name of it) but I havent brought any yet. If she doesn't start laying properly or more frequently I will give it a try
