pea supports

my sweet peas are nearly ready for planting out.
But what is the best way of supporting them? I did think of using a rigid sheet of 2" sq steel mesh tied to a couple of canes, would this work well?

peas or sweet peas?  :D

I usually plant sweetpeas on a wigwam if they're in the garden, on the allotment I plant them at the ends of my bean frames  :)

On the allotment I grow sweetpeas for cutting and they go up pea netting, just like the sugar snaps at the other end of the frame.  steel mesh will certainly work. although it might be a bit harsh on the stems.
