Slugs [beer traps]

I bought several beer traps the other day as they where on offer don't much about these beer traps haven't used them before I guess you just place the trap on the ground and fill the trap up with beer and hope the slugs decide to have a party before munching on your brassicas

beer traps must be worth a try if they get rid of  slugs so for those of you out there that use these beer traps are they any good? or should I stick to the slug pellets also  I mite need to test the beer before putting it in the traps

When I was a barmaid, I used to bring home beer from the drip trays for the slugs. Pubs will probably be happy for you take it, if you can find one still open.

What are you putting all it in?  I’ve a new allotment to clear, and imagine it will be rife with the slimy little *, and I’ll need every weapon in the my arsenal (I had them pretty well managed on the old plot.  I’d forgotten the weeds won’t be the only thing I need to start again with)
