Hi all, is it right that these are usually planted around st Patricks day I usually do second earlies and main crop

You can plant them all at the same time as they all take different lengths of time to  grow and mature.

I do plant then..IF the weather is cooperating

You can plant all potatoes from end March through April. I do mine traditionally on Patricks day or near it, though there are some on this site who won't consider it until April because of frost risks.
(Though frosts can and have taken uk gardeners by surprise up until May)
When in doubt- bit of fleece does the trick
