Hello. My name is Bob and I'd just like to introduce myself to everyone.
I live in West Yorkshire and just acquired a plot a few weeks ago. I used to have an allotment a few years ago but had to give it up when babies came along. I found I couldn't spend as much time as I liked and unfortunatley the weeds and the slugs won in the end. But I've moved now and the kids are a bit more grown up, in fact they were helping out on the plot the other day and the site sec called them my apprentices.
The weather has been atrocious up here and I've really only been able to get on the plot this last week, but I managed to plant 200+ onion sets and some shallots. The plot itself is fairly clean and the previous tenant left me a compost bin full of lovely well rotted horse manure.
I have a fair bit of experience of growing veg but as everyone knows, you are always learning so I might be picking a few brains!

Good luck with your allotment - sounds like you have a good plot.

I haven't even planted my onions yet - the weather conditions have been so adverse.  But that is the challenge of gardening.

Hi Bob and welcome

Kids do change your life, don't they?  I still miss my lovely sports car that wouldn't fit a carrycot in the back. LOL -

I expect we'll be picking your brains as well - no one knows all the answers, so do chip in :)
