I'm sure this is a well discussed topic and I have read the thread by DD on his peas and support. However the above peas appear to grow to 5ft.
I have spent 1 ½ eek this afternoon desperately trying to put up some sort of support using canes and netting.
But it definitely wouldn't have with stood a breeze or a strong gust.
This is my first foray into peas (can't you tell) as I bought some ready grown at the garden centre so they are probably ahead of themselves.
So anyone got any ideas. I only have 20 plants. May buy more but its meant to be a bit of fun
Thanks
Happy Gardening May your plot be abundant in veg and free from slugs ! :)

My HGSs have never grown taller than about 3ft, I've been growing them for 10 years now - on 3 different allotment plots,  so very much doubt they'd ever get up to 5ft.

I knock a decent wooden stake in about every 6ft. ( 180cms) and run a cord ( I use old washing line) between them for every 9ins. Or so of height.
We come from the earth, we return to the earth, and in between we garden.

Forgot to mention, also use twiggy sticks to help them on their way. I save my old raspberry canes.

Short peas like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ukIsfaazcY
Tall peas similar with taller mesh/netting with more cane supports

Cable ties! A man after my own heart ( and yes I know we're all cutting back on plastic use, but damn me they are just so useful)!

I grow HGS too, and they get to around a metre here. I used a length of wldmesh fencing last season, supported at each end with a triangle of metal fence pins, and an extra one about every metre. Out site is incredibly windy, so much so i have had ot give up growing tall peas. This structure described stood up to 60mph winds justs fine

Also should add that pigens love pea shoots and will sit on the top of whatever structure you make and  nosh on the new growth as it reaches high enough, so some means of discouraging them is needed for sure.
