this boring bit of the garden has been under sheet mulch for 8 years or so til we got round to doing something with it

Water feature, whispering grass, wind chimes, pond  :?:  Decisions, decisions

I am so jelious. I really want chickens but it is just not practical in our garden.
The ground is to boggy, and shaded by trees, they would dig up all the plants we put hard work into maintaining and we have a timid cat who would never venture out again
Your's look wonderfully happy though :)

I see, it's a landing pad for a chicken spacecraft.

(Seriously though, they look great :!: )
Oops a daisy!

I did it wrong     The Eglu is supposed to go in place before the bark chips so I've got to scoop it all out so the Eglu and run sits on the ground, then teem it all back in again

It's been raining hard so not attempting it while the bark is wet.  Oh well, I should read the instructions properly

Yes, cos the skirt has to sit on the ground with the bark teemed in and around afterwards. The way I've done it means the skirt is sitting on the bark and foxy could get under it.

Hi CQ,
I have an eglu and am pretty sure that no fox is going to get under it even if there is a bit of bark under the skirt....

My girls are quite happy in it, but are even happier if they are let out to trash my borders....  :(
