Red, sore skin
« on: April 29, 2012, 19:39 »
Hi all

One of my hybrids has a large bald patch on her breast that is very red and angry looking.  I'm not sure how long she's been like it but it doesn't seem to be bothering her.  Does anyone have any ideas what it could be and how to treat it.

Thanks
Beth

check her for lice and mites. Also check to see if she is managing to stick her head through a section of fencing and rubbing herself raw.
Staffies are softer than you think.

Could be just a neck moult  but if it's red and sore you could try a bit of purple spray on it, which is antiseptic.

Keep an eye on it as if it's a parasite you will need to treat the housing and the bird(s)
