Title: Teeny tiny daffodils.
Post by: Kleftiwallah on March 13, 2021, 16:33
I'm sure I've broached this subject before but a search has failed.  We have a clump of very small daffodils in a bed and last year we had one flower, (which made me realize the were daffodils).

I read/heard that daff's planted at too shallow a depth will not flower. Is there any truth in this?  I'm thinking of splitting up the clump and replanting after this flowering season.

Cheers,  Tony.

I think if the clump becomes too congested it will not flower.
if you buy daffs in pots they are very shallow.

'Tete a tete' and others easily split from their and can do really well after replanting. We just love them!

It's been the best ever year, here, for these little chaps, as last year I took all the pots we'd bought, and planted them individually in a new bed - they're everywhere now, and I really didn't expect to see so many thriving!

We've also got some 'new' ones called 'Topolino' to plant out soon...
