Soda Bread - buttermilk

I have a recipe for soda bread and but i don't have any buttermilk or live yog.

RECIPE

Does this matter? Can i just leave it out?

I've not tried this myself, but here's a recipe for buttermilk.

Thank you - I did the recipe with whole milk and it was yum.

But i was too tired to cook romantic meal last night so i'm going to do it tonight.

Fried squid and Soda Bread

followed by
Bream, scallops and fennel.

That does sound extremely yummy.

I do like the odd buttermilk scone so next time I indulge I'll test that recipe.

Thanks for the link catarama I made the meal last night and the lemon juice in milk worked really really well i also added loads of herbs to the bread so that what really really yummy.!!!!
