We're putting in a bid for some cash to do up our site a bit and I need to get an estimate for making the main vehicular access a bit less muddy. The council allotment bloke says we need 'type 1' something tamped down. Anybody know what this is and what to ask for (I'll be ringing some contractors, so I'll need the right lingo)? The path is about 3.5m x 60m.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Never thought of that thanks Shaun, Our association is after some sort of gravel for paths/roadways, this would be ideal :)

MOT or type 1 are the same thing and can be delivered by someone like travis perkins for about £40 per ton and you would need about 35 ton, you could get it on a grab hire lorry for alot less if access is ok, i think £10-£15 a square meter is a fair price at 100mm thick and you have 210M2 so £2000- £3000. as long as theres no digging invoved it is VERY straight forward if you have plenty of volenteers!
Just a couple of things, do not try to rake Type 1, dont use hoggin, road chippings are ok but do not compact as well as type 1.
we can plant a house, we can build a tree
