I had more rocket potatoes than I could shake a stick at and it is great to have given so many away to friends, but I baked a couple earlier today to see what this variety is like baked, esp since many spuds do not bake well at all.

Well the flavour is very impressive indeed. I baked them as I always bake spuds: on a low temp for about 2hrs, so the natural sugars etc have a chance to develop,  I then scooped them out, mixed the spuds with butter, seasoning, cheese and finely chopped onion, then put back in their skins and baked for another 20 mins. Wow, they have such a rich depth of flavour - much more so than when they are steamed which is my usual way of cooking this variety - heavenly.

Oh the simple pleasures.

It tastes all the better cos you grew it too! I too have baked various new potataoes and I've yet to be disappointed.
