Thanks Val, the tip in your book about making blackcurrant jam has resulted in the best ever batch. My lot used to call it ballbearing jam :lol:but you've sorted it for me.

ps if you want to know what tip I'm talking about, you'll have to buy the book

It's so important that you don't cook the blackcurrants too quickly or the skins will toughen.

hhmmm think I might have to invest in the book I tried to make blackberry jam at the weekend and hubby said I'd probably get a job with Tarmac  it was slightly chewy
