Cake Nostalgia
« on: June 12, 2017, 19:27 »
When I was young (a long while ago, I know) the local baker used to make a cake with crumbs from all the unsold cakes from the day before. I can't remember what we called it  ::)

I just watched a Paul Holywood programme and he was eating Gur (aka Chester) cake, which seems quite like it - but not exactly IIRC . His version seemed like bread pudding wrapped in pastry.

Can anyone else remember the one I recall? and a recipe would be loverly

Woman cannot live by bread alone , she must have cake , biscuits cheese and the occasional glass of wine .🍷
