Greenhouse thermometers

Any ideas about what sort to buy? Maximum/minimum? Do they make special ones for the high temperatures?

It's a birthday prezzie for SWMBO.

Cheers.

get a digital one with 7 or 14 day memory. oregon Scientific do them. Better still, get one of em like a weather station, if your budget stretches to it. The results can be fed into a program that outputs the results in html and uploads to a web page, then you can see what the temp record is anywhere with internet access  8)

I have a erm 'shed thermometer' it is digital and has an outdoor probe on 3 metres of fine wire, that goes outside the shed and is kept an inch above the ground. I do this to detect a ground frost. it also tells me how warm and humid the shed is. :)

If you buy a 'greenhouse thermometer' I bet you will pay top dollar simply for the appellation 'greenhouse' !

Hi

yep go a min-max type most you see will cover all the temps needed . Get  one with a good reset some are a bit slow

Have fun by the way recording the temps gets addictive so get a note book as well

Depends what you call high temperatures!

This is the type I favour, (illustration only - not suggesting you buy this particular one).

It goes up to 50 Celsius (122 Fahrenheit). Can't see the point in having one that goes higher, as that's too bl**dy  hot anyway!

Max/Min
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
