Title: Chicken pellets.
Post by: Digger Tom on April 03, 2010, 17:51
a friend of mine has just started keeping hens in his garden, I have tried the eggs & they are awsome. I was going to ask if I could have some of the droppings for my allotment.

Are they ok to use? Are they the same as the ones you buy or have they been treated in some way?

 sorry for the noobie question.

They`ll be fine, just don`t use them fresh. Pile them somewhere and let them compost for a couple of months.

Hi Digger Tom,
The chicken poo would be too fresh to put on  the soil on your lottie, it could burn all your veg. but it would be great to add it to your compost bin for next year.
Good luck we were all newbies once!
