How old are they now Matty and what breeds.

Most laying birds start to produce at about 22-26 weeks old.

how old are they matty? and which types do you have?
my older 3 (now 19 weeks) has laid 2 eggs last saturday and nothing since, we had them for 3 weeks, the man we got them from said they should be laying in 3-4 weeks time!

do they have somewhere comfy to lay on?

One pop and they don't stop...

I have seven and they must be 22 weeks ishhhhhh...

Anyway getting 2-3 eggs a day now. The early eggs are divine, enjoy while you can, the seem to get more conventional as they lay more, but the early eggs have the thickest whites and are just so godamn cute.

We get very blasé about eating our own free range eggs dont you think? Im sure if I had the mis-fortune to eat one from a supermarket now, I'd realise how bloomin' lucky we are to have our own hens.
