Our turkey, who is aprox 20 months old lays an egg usually every other day.... This week she has excelled herself, we have had 5 eggs this week. She is a character one moment she is happy, the next moment demented, she almost knocked me over the other day, boy was she in a bad mood , i almost fell in a hole that had been dug!

She lays her egg under an old tree root that was dug up ages ago, just to make it hard for us to get to the egg  Does anyone else have a turkey laying eggs a d if so, where do they lay their egg?

Don't worry Pamela. I have found a nice picture on the internet which compares a turkey egg to a chicken's egg.

They really are pretty - I will add to the I have never seen one before group!

They taste like hens eggs, no different. They are hard to crack open though, the membrane is quite tough, i have to cut them with a sharp knife

my turkeys havent laid any eggs yet but i dont think it will be long as the weather has warmed up abit over the last two days they have been at it like rabbits and one of the hens has made a nest in the corner of the shed! not in the nest box though! so fingers crossed it wont be long.
