I hatched some chicks and they are now just over a week old. I hear about chicks being vaccinated and wormed. My question is should I do this, vaccinate against what, how do I vaccinate and worm them and where - if I have to do this do I get the stuff from :?:

leave them for a couple months as the chances are they wont even come near the worms unless ya have a dirty chicken area  and your birds are carriers / then if you want to have a word with your feed and grain suppliers  for the relevant meds .i  give mine any wormer every couple months if i do then i use whats left of my emetryl ( now banned  ) .. see your supplier and then you will put it in the water ... vaccination is a complete waste of money in my book unles its a very expensive or rare bird .
still alive /............

I am not quite sure where you are as Manchester is a large place. You could try these: Pimblotts Poultry 01772 814931 Lancs. C Noel Drake 01282 774305 Burnley. I have not tried these. I live more south in Cheshire. I usually buy from Leek or Chelford markets but you have to be careful what you buy. I have also bought from a poulty dealer in Leek but you tend to pay top price. Recently I have been buying eggs and hatching my own. The other place you can look at is ebay - you often find people who have business websites linked to their auction sites so you can contact them about buying poultry. Hope this helps. Get back to me if you want more contacts and I will see what I can find.
