Hi,

Growing cucumbers for the 1st time. Just needed to confirm if these climb or stay flat on the floor and if they climb how high? searched google but can't find anything concrete.

Best not to leave them on the ground or slugs and snails will have a feast. Train them where you want them on canes or stout netting. The runners can grow 2.5m or more so i go up 1.2m then train horizontally. You could have a dozen sizable cucs on the plant at once so any support needs to be strong.

I planted these last year and had great success but i left them to trail across the floor of the plot with no slug damage, i may have been lucky, I plan to do the same this year.
