Thought it would be interesting and useful for us newbies to know what kind of protection, i.e fleece, cloche, mini polytunnel, netting etc people use for which crop? As everyone seems to have different opinions. Thanks

this year using vironmesh on brassicas and carrots ,hopefully giving protection from pigeons, rabbit, butterflies and carrot fly.

net over anything rabbits eat ,so far onions, leeks and lettuce plants later young bean plants will need net to keep rabbits off.

I have covered everything with net except the spuds but mostly I net everything to keep off the cats.  I am going to put up a wood frame and net for the raspberries later in the year, they are tiny at the moment so it isn't worth hurrying.  i am in the process of making a semi portable and permanent wood and metal mesh frame for the strawberries.  I have a metal mesh barrier up around the beans to keep off the cats but may need to think about a top too to keep pidgeons off as well, just haven't seen any lately. the carrots have a new hose and bamboo cloche covered in fleece, there was a barrier of flecce before but it was getting a little wind blown.

Come on IHM can't wait for a double entendre on this one, as the father of 7 I don't think I better comment
