My garlic used to have what looked like flower heads, but with tiny bulbils on them.  Never got round to finding out what would happen if I planted them!

LilacSandy - they grow quite a size in their second year as a round ball and are delicious and so easy use and to peel etc. Loads of garlic in one instead of using all the individual cloves..

Thanks Gavin,  I have so many that I will be able to use quite a lot, may let another couple go to seed next year so that I can have them every year.
