If anyone is interested, Thompson & Morgan have a half-price sale for the next two weeks, if you want to start planning for next year now!

They appear still to be running the 'spend £10 get the most expensive packet free' offer alongside it as well.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I had an email about this as well. I suppose the seeds for which it is too late to plant this year will be OK until next year?

I'm just about to spend my free £5 voucher with them on one offer and then get my 2 free packs of seed on another offer.

I keep on telling my mates ..don't buy from the 1st catalogue they send you,and they'll send you a load of offers.

£20 worth of seeds for £4 postage

People must feel guilty about it.

Not me !

Most seeds have a viability longer than a year, so those bought now will be OK in 2009.

I know that parsnips are one to be careful with, as they only have viability of one year, the rest you should be OK with.

John's book gives a table of seed life expectancy.

These half price sales are fine, but I'm too busy with this year's plants & seeds to plan next year!

Is it really too late to buy seeds for this year ?

or does it depend on what plant it is ?

I like the idea of getting some seeds from T&M.... :)

Depends what they are. You'll be needing plenty of salad stuff and things like PSB and chard for planting later. And herbs of course.
Those fairies that keep chucking new chickens into babe's garden often drop packets of seeds off to me as well.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
