is this spaghetti squash ripe? It has turned yellow, but is still quite hard. I have never grown one before, and with so little coming off my plot this year, I wouldn't want to lose it.

Pop down to an organic greengrocers and have a shufti at theirs to compare colour and skin condition, give theirs a good prod and poke while your at it!

They stay hard on the outside, even when ripe

If it's changed colour it's ready to eat

If you want to store it for a while rather than eat it, then leave it on the plant another few weeks, It may get a deeper colour and get even harder.
