is this spaghetti squash ripe? It has turned yellow, but is still quite hard. I have never grown one before, and with so little coming off my plot this year, I wouldn't want to lose it.

Pop down to an organic greengrocers and have a shufti at theirs to compare colour and skin condition, give theirs a good prod and poke while your at it!

hmm, bit short on them down this way, Good idea though :D

They stay hard on the outside, even when ripe ;)
If it's changed colour it's ready to eat :)
If you want to store it for a while rather than eat it, then leave it on the plant another few weeks, It may get a deeper colour and get even harder.

Thank you MOS :D
